2.1 GomSpace SDR The SDR system is built by combining three standalone components: GomSpace NanoCom TR- 600 (transceiver), NanoMind Z-7000 (processor/FPGA-unit) and the NanoDock SDR [5].

The ISL demonstrator payload is based on GomSpace SDR (Software Defined Radio) platform product based on the Xilinx Zynq7000 FPGA (Figure 20). The SDR is connected to an active (integrated LNA & PA) S-band patch antenna and the SDR implements a special waveform to allow ISL communication at up to in theory 6 Mbit/s – in practice bit rates are restricted by distance and regulatory aspects. It is a small formfactor radio that is dockable on our NanoDock DMC-3. The ISL capability is based on GomSpace's modular SDR (Software Defined Radio) platform. The main SDR board performs all the modulation, demodulation and protocol functions and is connected to three active patch antennas.

NanoCom ANT1090-P developed by GomSpace is a Communication Microstrip Antenna. The NanoCom ANT1090-P is a patch antenna that is designed especially for ADS-B signal reception. It is available in an active and a passive version which makes it capable of interfacing with both with GomSpace SDR transceivers and the dedicated GomSpace ADS-B receiver.
